Edson-Ryan Mahalu is an Advocate of the High Courts of Tanzania and Zanzibar, and a Founding Partner at Ironbridge Attorneys, where he leads key practice areas including Corporate & Commercial Law, Corporate Governance and Secretarial Services, Intellectual Property, Insurance Law, Energy Law and Regulatory Compliance. He is also an accredited Intellectual Property Law Specialist, certified by the Asian School of Cyber Laws (India).

Edson brings a wealth of high-level experience from both working as an In-house Counsel in big multi-jurisdictional corporations and law firm environments. He also serves as a Chief Legal Counsel and Company Secretary for Jubilee Insurance Tanzania entities, served as a Senior Legal Specialist at Elsewedy Electric East Africa Limited, and an Associate at Victory Attorneys & Consultants. Throughout his career, he has advised and represented multinational corporations, individuals, and major key players across the insurance, energy, construction, telecommunications, mining, logistics, and manufacturing sectors.

His expertise covers corporate secretarial services, legal advisory, corporate restructuring, contract management and negotiation, regulatory compliance, due diligence, corporate legal audits, and regulatory engagements. Edson has also been involved in major national projects, including the Julius Nyerere Hydro-Power Project (JNHPP), through his previous role with Elsewedy Electric, which was part of the Elsewedy Electric–Arab Contractors joint venture (appointed as the main contractor for the project). Additionally, he has participated in various investment-related undertakings, including Strategic Investor Status applications with the Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC, as it then was), as well as several high-stakes regulatory initiatives.

In January 2026, while serving at Jubilee Insurance Tanzania, Edson was recognized by the Silver Scale Legal Awards as the Best In-House Counsel of the Year 2025. This recognition reflects his precision, strategic judgment, and business-oriented approach, through which he delivers practical legal solutions assisting clients navigate complex regulatory and commercial environment.
